When it comes to organization around the house, it’s sometimes difficult to find storage areas. Storage is a very big aspect when it comes to organization, but where do you start? There are many areas around the house that you may not think to utilize for your storage needs.

I do not live in the biggest house, and I definitely don’t have a lot of areas to store all of my possessions. It can be very frustrating. I decided it was time to get creative! Here are my top 3 areas for storage:

1) Guest Closets: Closets are one of the most common areas for storage, and are always a good option. If you have a guest bedroom closet, or even an office closet, you may have noticed the top shelf has plenty of room above. I love to use this shelf for items that I don’t use on a regular basis. Try using that extra space to your advantage, and use bins with an open front or easy-access handles. Here are some great bins to use that are sturdy and use the extra height to maximize storage needs.

2)Under a Bed: If you do not have a ton of room in your home a great place to utilize for storage is under a bed. This keeps things out of the way, but still easily accessible. There are many things you can store under your bed such as: shoes, clothes, and even decorations. I personally use my bed storage for most of my holiday decorations. Here are some bins to use if you need to store clothes or linens. These bins have trifold lids, making it easy to pull out items. If you are wanting something a bit sturdier, try this bin. These are great for keeping your decorations (or your shoes) safe! The lids fold in half, which is great when you don’t want to take the entire bin out from under the bed.

3) Coffee Table: Not many people think of their coffee table as a storage area, which is understandable. It’s good to keep in mind that not all coffee tables can be used in this manner. However, if you have a coffee table like I do, you have a shelf area under the table top. This is a great area to utilize for your magazines, blankets, and even board games or puzzles. Here are some baskets that are great for this purpose! Depending on the size of your coffee table, you can use one or both of these baskets. As a bonus they are beautiful and great for decorating!

Everyone needs an area they can store their things, but it’s not always an easy task. Utilizing unique areas around your house for storage can be a big game changer! Don’t be afraid to try new areas around your house. You never know what may work for you.
