Travel is already a stressful situation, without adding on how to pack, what to wear, or what to bring. I find that having everything planned and organized ahead of time makes travel day that much easier! From emergency kits and packing cubes to having a comfy outfit to wear, planning ahead gives you the peace of mind to travel with confidence.

My husband and I love to travel when we can. Our first trip together was stressful and I didn’t get to enjoy the full excitement of leaving home and getting the opportunity to explore. I was too busy running around, not knowing exactly what to do. I simply felt lost. Going in to our last big trip, I decided that I wasn’t going to run around like a chicken with my head cut off! I needed a plan. I wanted to make our trip stress-free and organized. Here are my tips to keep travel on track:

1) Packing List: When traveling, the best thing you can do is list out the items that you’ll need. Coming up with a packing list or looking one up can help get you on track and organized. Knowing what to bring is the easy part. You need to pack toothpaste, socks, and that cute new swimsuit. But without a packing list, I always get distracted and end up forgetting something important! I know you can always buy these things during travel, but I really try to avoid spending more money when I can help it.

2) Packing Cubes: Now that you have your list of everything you’re bringing, it’s time to pack them up. What is the best way to pack? There are so many different ways to pack a suitcase that help you quickly consolidate everything. I find that different types of folding and rolling do just the opposite, making it even more stressful. My favorite way to pack is with packing cubes. These cubes have made my travel preparations so much easier! With various sizes and the ability to further compress them, packing is a breeze. They also come in some great patterns, so everyone can find one they like!

3) Charging Cord Organizer: With all of our technology nowadays, they all have some form of charger that you need to bring with you when you travel anywhere. I used to try and roll them up in a neat manner, throw them in my bag, and go. But then when I go to pull one of them out, they are all tangled together and come out in one ball of cords. The best solution that I have found is this great small organizer. There are small pockets that fit cords nicely and additional space for any larger magnetic charging pads. No more detangling cords!

4) Travel Pill Box: If you are anything like me, you always travel with ibuprofen, antacids, and any other medication you may need for yourself or someone else. These travel pill boxes have been a lifesaver when traveling. They come in a pack of four, making it easy for everyone to have their own. Both my husband and I bring one in our carry-ons. I personalize each one to help keep medications seperate. These are also great for everyday use as well!

5) Hot Tools Bag: This last one is more for women who like to travel with their curling irons or straighteners. This hot tools bag was such a game changer for my tools’ organization and safety! With the heat resisitent mat that pulls out, I no longer have to worry about accidently burning any hotel towels. This bag not only holds hot tools, but also has pockets for any other hair accessories.
