Linen closets can be anywhere in your house, and come in many different sizes. You can store items such as sheets and towels, or puzzles and board games. The question is how to organize them in a manner that fits your needs.

When I moved into my house, my linen closet became the area for items that didn’t have a home. At first, I tried my hardest to store all of my bathroom items in my vanity. Let’s just say that didn’t turn out so well! So I decided that I needed to utilize all the room I had in my linen closet. Here are three simple items that I used to give my linen closet a face lift!

1. Medium Baskets: If you are anything like me, you have kitchen towels, rags, hand towels, etc. I used to have stacks of towels on the shelves and they would either fall over or mix together, creating a disorganized mess. By using these baskets, it's easy to keep the towels folded and organized by use. With the open top, I can easily grab new towels.

2. Large Baskets: When it comes to storage for larger items, such as toilet paper and paper towels, it can be more difficult. They’re often too tall for the shelves and difficult to get out, especially if you are already doing the potty dance! These large baskets can be placed on the floor for easy access.

3. Clear Drawers: Another area that can be a pain is all the bottles and boxes of medications, vitamins, and even oral care supplies. If you have the classic Builder-installed slotted white shelves, you know that items can fall right through those slots. These drawers make it easy to keep everything together. I even use them for my nail supplies! They come disassembled, but easily snap together. They also have the ability to stack, but make sure to measure the shelf height first! With the drawers being see-through, it’s easy to see what’s inside. If you want to go the extra mile, you can label them with a sharpie or even a sticker.

Organization doesn’t always need to be complicated. I find that using simple items gets the job done quicker and easier. You never know – after giving your linen closet a face lift, you may end up with an empty shelf, giving you even more storage! For more house tips, click here!
